Panel SA: Bodytech enters the target of the president of Fundação Palmares on social network

by

The Bodytech gym network, which was targeted by Sérgio Camargo, president of the Palmares Cultural Foundation, on social media for a campaign on racism, removed its content from the air and said it regrets the distortion of its message.

On Sunday (6), Camargo rescued a publication published by the company in November last year.

The post attributed to the gym network stated that all white people reproduce racism and recognizing themselves as part of a racist structure is the first step. “Be aware and fight racism in your own attitudes and speeches, but also in those of people around you”, stated the company’s text.

This Monday (7), Camargo began to say, on his social networks, that the Bodytech campaign is racist against whites. He repeated publications on the same topic against the company several times and called for a boycott of the company. He said that “racist blacks need to be punished in the same way as whites” and that “they are not structural victims or poor things”.

Other bolsonaristas such as federal deputy Bia Kicis (PSL-DF) endorsed the movement led by Camargo against Bodytech.

In a note, the gym network says that the message in question is part of a sequence of a publication. “Isolated and out of context, it brings a misinterpretation of a very clear message: the anti-racist fight belongs to everyone”, says the company in a statement.

“It is regrettable that, two months after the original post, a wrong interpretation was created about the company’s values, distorting the message. And it has put in doubt the correct position of the company, its shareholders, administrators and employees”, completes Bodytech. .
