This pre-financing will help accelerate the implementation of the key investment and reform measures outlined in each chapter of Greece’s REPowerEU.
The European Commission announced today that it has paid Greece pre-financing of €158.7 million in the form of a grant from REPowerEU funds under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
This advance follows the approval by the Council of the revised recovery and resilience plan of Greece which includes a REPowerEU chapter and the signing of financial agreements.
This pre-financing will help accelerate the implementation of the key investment and reform measures outlined in each chapter of Greece’s REPowerEU.
The measures described in this chapter will enable Greece to realize the RepowerEU goal of making Europe independent of Russian fossil fuels well before 2030.
The measures focus on facilitating the development of more renewable energy sources, including hydrogen and offshore wind, and facilitating the rapid integration of renewable energy into the electricity grid.
