The first cargo of liquefied natural gas with which the process of test checks for the smooth operation of the floating terminal (FSRU) of Alexandroupoli is started, DEPA Emporias delivered today Friday.

As the company points out, with its participation in the equity scheme managed by the FSRU, it has accelerated the implementation of this important energy project, and is proceeding with its utilization as a supplier, receiving the first chartered cargo of LNG.

This particular project opens new perspectives for DEPA Emporias in the expansion of its activities in the Balkans and Southeast Europe.

“We are particularly proud, and indeed as a Greek company, that today as a supplier we delivered Commission cargo to FSRU Alexandroupolis” said the company’s managing director, Konstantinos Xifaras. “It is an important project for her energy security of the country and the wider region, which we actively supported during its implementation, with our participation in the equity scheme. We demonstrate in practice our belief that this energy infrastructure is a necessary part of the energy security grid in SE Europe, by choosing FSRU Alexandroupolis as suppliers for the receipt of the company’s chartered cargoes”, he added.
