498 arrangements of debts to EFKA are lost every day according to the data announced by the KEAO (Insurance Debt Collection Center) for the last quarter of 2023. In total the period October – December 2023 44,832 settings lost:

29,934 related to the fixed arrangement of 24 or 48 installments
11,521 concern the law 5036/2023 on the revival of the insurance arrangements to deal with the double crisis of energy and inflation. In fact, these arrangements were lost again last quarter.
2,260 concern the extrajudicial mechanism
239 of 120 installments
209 of 100 installments
104 of 72 installments
115 concern other arrangements

In total, in 2023 it ended with 345,743 active arrangements for total debts of 4.68 billion euros. The completed arrangements were almost 650,000 and public funds have entered (not only in 2023 but also in previous years) 3.13 billion. euro.

The total debts to EFKA exceed 47.56 billion. euro together with interest and surcharges as from October to December 2023 the debts “raised” by 385 million. euro.

In the 4th quarter alone, 42,455 debtors were added to its “books” with total debts of 21.6 million euros.

In about 30,000 of these new borrowersEFKA sent individual notice by which he informs them that if they do not respond within 20 days (either by payment or by arrangement) then the forced collection process will begin.

3/4 debtors, approximately 1.71 million owe up to €15,000.

303,984 owe from €15,001 to €30,000

89,517 owe from €30,001 to €50,000

95,057 owe from €50,001 to €100,000

60,747 owe from €100,001 to €500,000

3,860 with debts from €500,001 to €1,000,000

2,641 with debts of more than €1,000,000

These 2,641 owe a total of 11.26 billion. euros (together with interest and surcharges), i.e. almost 1/4 of the total debts to EFKA.

66% of debts, 31.4 billion euros come from 2009 or even earlier.
