The Pinacoteca de São Paulo store decided to expand its ecommerce operations with a point of sale in the Magalu marketplace.
It is the first museum store to enter the company’s virtual mall, a channel that is still unexplored by institutions such as museums and cultural centers.
The Pinacoteca store, which sells items such as souvenirs linked to the collection, books and exhibition catalogues, already had its own virtual environment, which accounted for 15% of its revenue last year. With the entry into Magalu’s platforms, the expectation is to double this share of online commerce, says Pinacoteca.
The portfolio has 20 items for sale and, according to Pinacoteca, will help to reach the public outside São Paulo.
According to Magalu, the partnership should open doors for other art and culture institutions to also join the network’s marketplace.
