According to a statement from the Ministry of Labour, Mrs. Michailidou underlined that a safety net has been created for “employees, the unemployed, pensioners and all our fellow citizens, regardless of gender and age”.

Speaking about the private insurance industry, the responsible minister pointed out, among other things, that “the recent legislative efforts to reform professional insurance are a key step to ensure greater retirement savings and encourage the saving culture of Greeks”.

About its creation Supplementary Insurance Fund for Young Insured Persons (TEKA) stated that “this reform introduces individual pension accounts for young workers, promoting a culture of long-term investment and savings”.

Regarding the opportunity given to pensioners who wish to work, Domna Michailidou said that the numbers exceeded all expectations. “More than 82,000 pensioners signed up to the platform, significantly boosting EFKA’s projected revenues by 200 million euros,” he said.
