The continuation of subsidies on electricity bills in September was announced by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Thodoros Skylakakis.

In particular, Mr. Skylakakis said to Realfm that “we have the resources from the taxation we put in and the subsidy is being considered in September as well until there is a de-escalation of prices. We are waiting to see the final prices that the providers will give.

“I’m closer to getting a subsidy. We don’t think that the price set in August is for households without a small boost,” the minister emphasized.

He pointed out that “it will be at the same levels as the previous month so that the prices will also be kept stable. From there on, my hope is, despite some worrying things that I told you, the significant drop in demand, because in the autumn we go from 7.5 to 10 to 5 to 6, to have a de-escalation due to the normal demand of the season and due to entry of new renewable sources”.

“From there, demand drops in the fall. There are two factors that are factors of concern. One is the plan to destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which Russia is implementing as a method of war. This method of war that it is and, how can I explain it, violates international law,” Mr. Skylakakis added.
