Nike said on Thursday it will temporarily close all its stores in Russia, joining a string of Western brands that have suspended business in the country after the Ukraine invasion.
Nike made sales of goods on its website and app unavailable in Russia earlier in the week and had directed consumers in the country to its physical stores.
The new decision also covers the brand’s stores in the country.
Nike also said its foundation will donate $1 million to the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the International Rescue Committee to support relief efforts.
Earlier, US retailer TJX said it would sell its 25% stake in Russian low-cost clothing retailer Familia, with two of its executives also stepping down from director and observer roles.
