A decrease of 11.3% was recorded in the sales of cars in the country in August this year, as, according to ELSTAT.

In this particular month, 15,438 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time, compared to 17,395 that were released in the corresponding month of 2023 (an increase of 8.3% was presented in August 2023 compared to the corresponding month of 2022).

The new cars they amount to 9,040 compared to 10,936 released in August 2023, showing a decrease of 17.3%.

In the 8th month, 172,757 cars (new or used foreign) were released for the first time compared to 165,130 released in the corresponding period of 2023, showing an increase of 4.6% (an increase of 11.9% had occurred in the 8th month of 2023 compared to the corresponding period of 2022 ). New cars totaled 106,399 compared to 100,684 released in the 8th month of 2023, showing an increase of 5.7%.

At the same time, in August 6,326 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 5,699 in the corresponding month of 2023, showing an increase of 11% (an increase of 26.3% had been presented in August 2023 compared to the corresponding month of 2022 ). New motorcycles totaled 6,027 compared to 5,414 launched in August 2023, showing an increase of 11.3%.

At 8 months, 58,416 new motorcycles with a displacement of more than 50 cc (new and used foreign) were released compared to 49,715 released in the corresponding period of 2023, showing an increase of 17.5% (an increase of 13.8% had occurred in the 8th month of 2023 compared to the corresponding period of 2022 ).

New motorcycles totaled 55,539 compared to 47,081 launched in the 8th month of 2023, showing an increase of 18%.
