Share prices closed slightly lower in the last session of the week on the Athens Stock Exchange, amid a downward trend in European markets, which retreated after Thursday’s strong rise.

The General Price Index closed at 1,425.19 points, down 0.22%.

On a weekly basis, the main stock market index registered a rise of 0.42%, while since the beginning of the year it has recorded gains of 10.21%.

The value of the transactions amounted to 210.024 million euros, of which 22.46 million euros concern the trading of packages, while 49,562,331 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 0.24%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.67%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of EYDAP (+2.66%), Ellactor (+1.33%) and Mytileneos (+1.06%).

On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Motor Oil (-2.61%), National (-1.62%), Sarantis (-1.28%) and Coca Cola HBC (-1.27%) .

Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 14,691,739 and 9,186,379 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by National Bank with 42.10 million euros and Eurobank with 28.18 million euros.

45 stocks moved up, 49 down and 25 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Tzirakian +3.86% and Optima Bank +2.77%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Attica Bank -5.17% and Foodlink -3.78%.
