Taxpayers who deliver the income tax return within the first few days of the deadline are more likely to receive the refund earlier. The IRS will pay five refund batches in 2022, from May to September.
The first batch of Income Tax 2022 will be paid on May 31 and is intended for taxpayers with priority payment. Elderly people, people with physical or mental disabilities or serious illness and professionals whose main source of income is teaching have priority in payment.
The deadline for submitting the 2022 Income Tax return is 11:59 pm on April 29. The IRPF 2022 program can be downloaded from the Revenue website. Here’s the step by step.
REFUND PAYMENT CALENDAR
Batch | Pay day |
1st | may 31st |
2nd | June 30 |
3rd | July 29 |
4th | August, 31 |
5th | September 30th |
Refund priority:
- .elderly over 80 years old
- taxpayers between 60 and 79 years old, taxpayers with a physical or mental disability or serious illness, professionals whose main source of income is teaching, in order of submission of the declaration
The refund will only be paid if the IRS does not identify pending issues, such as omission of income for the holder and dependents, or wrong information in the deduction of medical expenses, for example. In these cases, the declaration remains in the fine mesh and it is necessary to correct the pending issues to have the refund released.
PAYMENT BY PIX
Taxpayers who have Income Tax to be refunded this year will be able to receive the money via Pix, the Central Bank’s instant payment system. The IRS will only pay the refund by Pix to the holder of the declaration that has a key with his CPF number.
For those who prefer or do not have a Pix key, there will still be the option to pay by checking account, the one that is informed in the final step of filling in the declaration.
In this case, care must be taken to inform the data correctly. If, for some reason, the credit is not carried out (for example, the informed account has been deactivated), the amounts will be available for redemption for up to one year at Banco do Brasil. In this case, the citizen can reschedule the credit of the amounts through the BB Portal, accessing the address: https://www.bb.com.br/irpf, or through the BB Relationship Center through the telephone numbers 4004-0001 (capital), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special telephone exclusively for the hearing impaired).
