Chinese companies that defy US restrictions on exports to Russia could be cut off from US equipment and software, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told the New York Times on Tuesday.
Washington is threatening to add companies to a trade blacklist if they circumvent new export restrictions to Russia.
If the US finds out that a company like Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation is selling chips to Russia, “we could essentially shut it down because we prevent them from using our equipment and our software,” she told the paper.
