The project is being implemented through a PPP and the preferred investor will undertake the construction, financing, maintenance and operation for 30 years
TAIPED, a member company of the Superfund, announces that three (3) investment schemes have expressed interest in the tender for the development of the “Andreas Lentakis” Government Park, with an estimated value of 421 million euros (plus VAT).
In particular, the following expressed interest (in alphabetical order):
- GEK TERNA SA
- ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS “AVAX S.A. – ACTOR CONCESSIONS S.A.”
- ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS “METLEN – INTRAKAT”
H A Phase of the competition will be completed with the evaluation of the submitted expression of interest files and the pre-selection of the candidates who will continue in the B Phase, which consists of the Competitive Dialogue process and then the submission of Binding Offers by the selected ones.
The project is carried out through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and the preferred investor will undertake the construction, financing, maintenance and operation for 30 years of the new administrative complex of buildings and the urban park.
OR Strategic Contracts Unit (PPF) of TAIPED was appointed by the Governmental Committee responsible for conducting the bidding process and monitoring the execution of the contracts for the implementation of the project.
The Government Park will be developed on an area of 154 acres and will include the creation of a new administrative office complex at the premises of EVO – PYRKAL, including the development of a large urban park that will function as a “green lung” in the wider area of the Municipality of Dafni – Ymittos, in the Attica Region.
The creation of the Government Park is one of the largest PPP projects ever announced in the country, but also an emblematic investment with multiple economic, social and environmental benefits: concentration of fragmented services in a single space, savings for the State and upgrading of quality lives of the residents of the wider area of the Municipality of Dafni-Ymittos.
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance of Greece, Nikos Papathanasis stated:
“The Government Park on the site of the old PYRKAL factory, which is launched through PPP, is a major investment entering its final stretch, but, above all, an urban regeneration project of great value. On the one hand, because it will improve the overall environmental footprint of Athens and will upgrade the life and everyday life of the residents of the Municipality of Dafni – Ymittos and the capital more broadly through the creation of a park and free public space, with a total area of approximately 120 acres. On the other hand, because it will mark a new era in the way public administration operates as it is predicted that it will house the concentrated services of nine Ministries and other Organizations in new and existing buildings. We are speeding up the reforms, we are putting into practice everything we committed to».
The Appointed Advisor of TAIPED and Head of the Strategic Importance Contracts Unit (PPF), Panagiotis Stamboulidis stated:
“The strong investment interest in the development of the “Andreas Lentakis” Government Park demonstrates the confidence of the business community on the one hand in the Greek economy and public projects financed through PPP, and on the other hand in the ability of the PPF to carry out large and complex tenders. We are committed to doing everything possible to make the Government Park a reality, as it is a landmark project that streamlines public administration spending, upgrades services to public officials and creates a new dynamic economy within the urban fabric of Attica».
