The competent authorities proceeded to arrest a man and impose an administrative fine for the fire that broke out yesterday in Kos.
According to the Fire Department, he was arrested yesterday as part of the spontaneous procedure, by investigative officers of the P.Y. Kos, a foreigner, for a negligent fire in an agroforestry area, in violation of existing legislation, in the area of ​​Kefalos, on the island of Kos, and he was imposed an administrative fine of 4,960 euros.
The arrested person will be taken to the District Attorney.
Also in Evia, a 28-year-old man was arrested for intentionally causing a fire in a forest area, and he was also fined 1,687.5 euros.
As stated in a statement by the Fire Department, he was arrested yesterday, by officers of the Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes (D.A.E.E.) with the assistance of investigative officers of the C.A.E.E. of PE.PY.D. Central Greece, a foreigner, for attempting to cause a fire in a forest area, on purpose, in the place “Balagari” of Ritsona, of the Municipality of Chalkidea, in Evia and he was imposed an administrative fine of 1,687.5 euros.
The 28-year-old is being held and will be brought to the Halkida Prosecutor’s Office today.
