Share prices moved higher in today’s session of the Stock Exchange, with the market closing slightly below 1,400 points, amid cautious upward movement of European markets, pending the election result in the USA. Banking shares were at the center of investment interest.

O General Price Index closed to 1,399.66 points, up 0.65%.

The value of transactions amounted to 127.25 million euros, while 29,658,814 shares were traded.

The large-cap index rose 0.77%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.36%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Ethniki (+2.85%), Ellaktor (+2.45%), Piraeus (+1.58%), Eurobank (+1.55 %) and OTE (+1.24%).

On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Sarantis (-1.27%), Jumbo (-1.14%), Lamda Development (-1.09%) and Autohellas (-0.90%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Piraeus and Alpha Bank with 13,752,085 and 4,391,397 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by Piraeus with 50.12 million euros and National with 22.01 million euros.

56 stocks moved up, 41 down and 29 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Intercontinental International +5.08% and Progressive +4.80%.

The largest decline was registered by the shares: Leventeris(p) -11.76% and Leventeris(k) -8.96%.
