Through the new application, over 85,000 transactions are digitized annually and the process of calculating and paying the relevant taxes is significantly simplified
The Independent Inland Revenue Authority is introducing the new Digital Transaction Fee application, for its digital declaration and performance, marking a new era in transactions.
Through the new application, more than 85,000 transactions are digitized annually and the process of calculating and paying the relevant taxes is significantly simplified, saving time for citizens and businesses, since:
• It is an easy and quick process, where the declaration is submitted digitally, through the myAADE portal (myaade.gov.gr), in the path Applications > Tax Services > Fees & special taxes > Digital transaction fee, until the last day of the following month from the month concerned. It includes the transactions carried out during the reference month and their economic value.
• Reduces red tape by eliminating the need to mark documents and simplifying procedures.
• Unifies the method of calculation and payment, applying a single rule for all transactions.
It is reminded that from 1/12 the Stamp Duty is abolished (law 5135/2024) and important transactions, which favor entrepreneurship, are excluded, such as indicatively:
• the utility loan,
• the formation and capital increase of non-profit legal persons/entities,
• guaranteed bank credits in favor of importers,
• the fixed stamp duty on certain administrative acts such as marriage license and business licenses as well
• the Stamp Duty of 2.40% or 3.60% on reservations concerning Legal Entities under Public Law or the State (such as Stamp duty on reservations in favor of the National Medicines Agency, in favor of the Court Buildings Financing Fund and in favor of the Single Independent Public Procurement Authority – EADISY).
In addition, exemptions were introduced in transactions subject to Stamp Duty such as contractual interest on loans and credits as well as the establishment of a tax exemption over 150,000 euros of tax per loan.
Finally, from 1/12, through the digital portal myAADE (myaade.gov.gr), in the path Applications > Tax Services > e-Receipt, the new horizontal Digital Transaction Fee receipts are available, for transactions where the issuance method is provided parabola.
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Christos Dimas, said: “A leap into the digital age! The online platform for Digital Transaction Fee has already gone live as promised, thereby eliminating Stamp Fee for more than 600 transactions. Essentially, it is a house hold that aims to free citizens, professionals, businesses and the State from bureaucratic procedures that have burdened them until now. The purpose is to modernize the legislative framework for imposing tax on transactions, to simplify and digitize the process, to rationalize the basis for imposing tax on transactions, as well as to reduce administrative burdens.
“With the implementation of the Digital Transaction Fee, we take another important step in the digitization of our services and turn the page on an outdated tax procedure. We create a citizen-friendly environment where transactions are simplified and made more transparent. We are convinced that the new application will contribute to strengthening tax compliance, while ensuring public revenues”, said the Governor of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis.
