2025 is expected to be a particularly promising year for the families of enlisted men as with the announcement of the Prime Minister on the granting of the hazard allowance, the new year holds for enlisted men no less than 5 increases in their salaries.

5 increases which, if added up in the case of, say, an enlisted man who is paid the amount of €1465, has a child and exhausts the limit of night work, give a monthly benefit of €169/month or €2,028/year.

Risk allowance

153,240 uniformed personnel will start receiving from July 1, 2025 a hazard allowance. The allowance will be in the order of €100 and will be added to the special conditions allowance they already receive.
Policemen, Coastguards and Firemen now receive depending on their rank from €45 to €393 per month.
Those serving in the 3 army corps receive from €105 to €500.
Everyone increases their earnings by €100/month or €1200/year

Night compensation

The new year will begin for enlisted men with an increase in the hourly compensation for night work from €2.77 to 3.33%, an increase of 20%. By service the “nights” vary from 10 to 64 hours per month.

Indicative:

-For a firefighter with 10 hours of night work per month, the increase corresponds to €5.5 gross per month.
-For dock workers with 32 hours of night work per month, the increase corresponds to €18 gross per month.
-For a police officer with 64 hours of night work, this increase corresponds to €36 gross
-The maximum net benefit can reach €22/month or €264/year in the example of the police officer who exhausts the limit and works 64 hours a month at night.

Increase in contributions

Also from the new year of 2025, uniformed persons will benefit from a reduction of one unit in insurance contributions (half a unit from the employer and half from the employee).
The calculation gives a small salary increase of €10/month or €120/year for a salary of €1465

Minimum wage

With the successive increases in the minimum wage in recent years, we have reached the point where it has come “dangerously” close to the introductory salary in the State. €830 the first, €850 the second.
Recently the government voted in the Parliament for the direct connection of the 2 so that they go hand in hand from now on.
In other words, if on April Fool’s Day the minimum wage increases by €40 to €870, the introductory salary of the State will also increase by €20 to “catch” it. If the floor increases by €50, the introductory price will be adjusted by €30, and so on
Corresponding increases as a consequence will also exist in the next steps to maintain the distances between employees with different years of service and different grades.

Of course, the uniformed persons who belong to the approximately 700,000 of all civil servants also benefit from this arrangement.

A captain with 8 years of service currently receives €1425. An increase in the minimum wage by €40 means an increase in his own earnings by €20 in 1445. Annual benefit of €240
A lieutenant with 6 years of service, from €1305 will go to €1325

Child benefit

From 1/1/2025, the readjustment of the child allowance will begin to be applied, from which of course the families of the enlisted men also benefit
The captain of the previous example, if he has a child from the 28€/month he was getting, from the new year he will get 45€.
His income is increased by €17/month or €204/year.
