They “inflate” from January 1st contributions which they will pay every month freelancersself-employed, farmers and “blocks”. The amounts they pay today will be adjusted for inflation, as they are every year. The increase is determined for the new year at 2.7%, when for 2023 the amounts of contributions had risen by 9.6% and at the beginning of the current year by 3.5%. Thus, in the last 3 years, self-employed contributions have cumulatively increased by almost 16%.

The new “inflated” contributions will be paid for the first time at the end of February 2025, when professionals will also be asked to pay the amounts due for January.

How the contributions will be structured for 2025

Until the end of the next month (that is, until January 31, 2025), professionals are invited to choose – if they wish – a higher insurance category than the one they are already in. The choice however is optional.

The increase in contributions also concerns the “blocks”, while those employed at the same time are spared if the contributions from their salaried work cover the new increased amounts of the insurance categories.

The amounts of contributions after the increase of 2.7% are estimated to be formed for 2025 as follows (note: the 10 euros for unemployment should be added to the amounts):

– First insurance category: contributions will rise to 244.65 euros from 238.22 euros last year (for the pension and health sector)

– Second insurance category: contributions will be 293.58 euros from 285.87 euros in the previous year

– Third insurance category: contributions will rise to 351.8 euros from 342.5 euros in 2024

– Fourth insurance category: contributions will be 422.8 euros from 411.7 euros in the current year

– Fifth insurance category: contributions will rise to 506.7 euros from 493.4 euros this year

– Sixth insurance category: contributions will be 659.3 euros from 642 euros today.

The “special” category and the farmers

However, there is also the small introductory insurance class (for young freelancers during the first 5 years of their activity), which from 142.9 euros per month (only for main pension and health) the amount will reach 146.8 euros.

Close by, the farmers who for the 1st category from 141.8 will pay 145.6 euros, the 2nd from 170.1 euros go to 174.74 euros, in the 3rd from 204.1 to 209.7 euros, in the 4th of 245.02 to 251.63 euros, in the 5th from 294.94 to 302.9 euros and in the 6th category from 384.5 to 394.4 euros.
