By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanassis, following a close cooperation with the Region of Thessaly and the European Commission, a plan to support the affected areas by Daniel bad weatherfunded with initial budget resources 83.86 million eurosthrough the sectoral programs of NSRF 2021-2027.

The new integrated plan, with the utilization of resources from the “Environment and Climate Change” programs, “human resources and social cohesion” and “competitiveness”, managed by the competent General Secretariat of the Ministry, includes actions on four axes: Infrastructure, Employment, Entrepreneurship, Services Coordination.

In more detail, Actions are foreseen for:

  • Restoration of the damage-water-water supply networks to the affected municipalities of the Region of Thessaly, of EUR 39.46 million.
  • Modern fund for 500 businesses- a special program for the creation of 500 new businesses by graduates in the affected areas of € 22 million.
  • 2,182 Unemployed work in the municipalities and the Region of Thessaly eight months of EUR 19.2 million.
  • And the support mechanism of the Regional Coordination Authority of EUR 3.2 million.

It is noted that the plan may be updated with Add new actionsdepending on the needs and existing funding capabilities of the programs.

It is emphasized that its actions are in addition to those whose implementation is already planned through other programs/financial instruments.

The Plan is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund and the European Social Fund +.
