Businessman Salim Mattar, founder of Localiza, praised the 1964 military coup on social media this Thursday (31), the date on which the dictatorship turned 58.
“Thanks to the ‘March 31, 1964 Movement’ today we are not a communist country. I am an eyewitness to that serious moment when Brazil could have gone the wrong way with the communists in power”, wrote the businessman, who frequently manifest on social media.
In line with the president, Mattar supported Bolsonaro’s campaign in 2018 and was the government’s Privatization Secretary.
Bolsonaro also defended the dictatorship in a ceremony at the Planalto Palace on Thursday.
