By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis are eligible for funding from its Program ESPA “Competitiveness 2021-2027” and the six proposals submitted as part of the action “Networks of Technology Transfer Units/Offices”, with Beneficiaries 23 Higher Education Institutions and 11 research institutions of the country.
The action, with a total budget of 24,759,751 euros, concerns the creation and operation of Technology Transfer Networks, with the aim of exploiting the research results produced in the country’s public research organizations and integrating them into value chains. The aim is to improve the Innovation indicators, to increase the percentages of private investments in areas of high knowledge intensity and high added value, to improve the competitiveness of research organizations at an international level, as well as to develop the country’s human resources by specializing in skills related to new technologies.
The acts included are the following:
* “Technological Research and Know-how – Flow of Ideas & Collaboration (TETRIS)” with a budget of €4,700,344 and co-beneficiaries are the Technology and Research Foundation, the University of Western Attica, the Hellenic Mediterranean University, the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, the National Research Foundation, the Hellenic Center for Marine Research, the Research Center for Biomedical Sciences “Alexander Fleming” and the Hellenic Agricultural Organization – Dimitra.
* “Expansion of Innovation Network through Technology Transfer” with a budget of €2,937,500 with co-beneficiaries the University of Patras, the University of Ioannina, the Ionian University, the University of the Peloponnese and the National Observatory of Athens.
* “Technology Bridge Network” with a budget of €6,717,500 and co-beneficiaries are the University of Athens, the Harokopion University, the Polytechnic of Crete, the University of the Aegean, the Democritus University of Thrace, the Hellenic Open University, the University of Crete and the Medical Biological Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens.
* “Technology Transfer Cooperation Network of the Agricultural University of Athens, Panteion University, University of Piraeus and University of Thessaly” with a budget of €2,037,499.99 and joint beneficiaries are the Agricultural University of Athens, the University of Thessaly, Panteion University and the University of Piraeus.
* “Services for the development of innovation in the research and academic community: Network of Technology Transfer Offices – SPIRA+” with a budget of €3,721,907.04 and co-beneficiaries the National Center for Research and Technological Development, the University of Macedonia, the University of Western Macedonia, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the International University of Greece.
* “Technology Transfer Empowerment Network – Science Agora” with a budget of €3,745,000 and co-beneficiaries are the Athens University of Economics and Business, the National Technical University of Athens, the National Science Research Center “Demokritos” and the Athens – Research Center for Innovation in Information, Communication and Knowledge Technologies.
