Following the announcement of the five new measures by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Attica Regional Chamber Council, Vassilis Korkidis, said:
“I call on the business world of Attica to cooperate in the implementation of existing and new measures. It is time to take part in another effort to avoid generalized measures, it is time to show responsibility towards our loved ones and society as a whole. The economy does not withstand new shocks, it does not withstand counterclaims and instrumentalization of ignorance, fear, misinformation and their consequences. The only weapon we have today that promises a victorious outcome on the battlefield, where every day a shocking number of our fellow citizens lose the battle to the death, is the vaccine. We must therefore adhere to the measures so that hard lockdowns do not return, as is the case in other countries, because the “health of the economy” is not subject to a new “intubation”, the outcome of which will be unpredictable. Let us approach the new measures, in view of the festive market, with an encouraging mood and not a suspensive confrontation “, said Mr. Korkidis.
