Johnny Hooker discusses end of career after single release

by

The singer Johnny Hooker vented on his social networks this Saturday (21) and talked about the possible end of his career, after the release of the single “Cuba”.

“For an artist to exist and survive without support from anywhere, there needs to be organic demand, and the numbers from the 1st day of Cuba’s release make that clear. There is no more demand for my work. If there was a sketch of one ever. You need to know when to retire,” he tweeted with a screenplay showing the single’s 13,879 views.

Despite the disappointment, he reinforces that the new album will be released in the coming weeks. “It wasn’t a battle at all lost, I managed to dribble the economic power several times. I have 2 platinum records and 250 million organic streams to prove it. The legacy remains too, art is forever. But we have to maintain dignity also.”

Performer of hits like “Marginal Love” and “Flutua”, Hooker stressed that he is grateful for all the admirers of his work. “Loves, thank you for the messages of love and affection that flooded here, my outburst was not out of ingratitude with everything I’ve already conquered (which was a lot by the way), sometimes it’s just a request for help and a reminder that I still I’m here alive,” he wrote.

On Instagram stories, a follower asked if he’s going on a farewell tour. “I don’t know, see. There’s still this album to release and then I think it’s over”, he said in a video.
