Roberto and Erasmo Carlos have appeal denied in court for possession of music

In the second instance, the São Paulo Court of Justice denied an appeal filed by singers and composers Roberto Carlos and Erasmo Carlos regarding the possession of more than 70 songs. The information was first disclosed by Rogério Gentile’s column on UOL and checked by F5.

Both asked in court for the recovery of 72 songs that would have been transferred to the publisher Fermata more than 50 years ago. Among the songs are “Énecess Saber Viver” and “Se Você Pensa”.

The process started in 2019 and already in the first instance the pair had lost. They wanted to terminate a contract with the publisher and claimed that they would never have had the idea of ​​ceding the copyright to it, just given the opportunity to explore the songs.

The objective, according to them in the process, would not be to sell the works, but to maximize the economic benefits of their creations. But in this new phase of the trial, it was defined that they, in fact, would have transferred the rights to the company.

Wanted, Erasmo and Roberto, through their advisers, said they are waiting and analyzing the next steps that will be taken with their lawyers. They can still appeal to the Superior Court of Justice.

If that wasn’t enough, Roberto Carlos has to live with other types of troubles. This Monday (22), in images circulating on the internet, it is possible to see the singer with his car stopped for lack of gasoline in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

The “king” was on his way to the studio where he is rehearsing Globo’s year-end special, which he will resume after two years. However, the car broke down while he was still in Urca, a neighborhood in the south of Rio de Janeiro where he lives.

According to his press office, Roberto Carlos forgot to ask for the vehicle to be refueled and did not realize that the gas needle was on the reserve. That would have been because he hadn’t used the car, a red Audi, for many months.

Luckily, he was soon rescued. “Whenever he goes out, he has a support car with security guards,” his staff said. “He moved to the security car that took him to the studio, and then they went to retrieve the car.”
