“Order?”: The viral radio station in Canada that played a song non-stop for 24 hours .. rage

A strange day for airwaves in Canada.

The motivation behind his move to play the “Killing in the Name” of Rage Against The Machine on a Vancouver radio station for almost 24 hours is being sought by social media users today.

Some speculated that the action was linked to staff redundancies carried out by the station’s parent company a day earlier.

Still others argued that this was a move taken by the medium, which plays mainly pop and soft rock, in order to state that it was going to change course to more “hard” sounds.

A similar move was made by a Latin radio station in San Francisco, back in 2014, it played for 72 hours non-stop Nelly’s “Hot In Herre”, thus showing that it is turning to r’n’b.

The people of the station, however, have not made any official statement.

From time to time, the station’s producers interrupted the flow of the program to listen to the listeners’ requests for songs on the air, but after the microphones were turned off, only “Killing In The Name” could still be heard.

In fact, when a listener got to ask for “Killing In The Name”, the answer he got from the station’s DJ was “Wait a minute – I do not know if we can play it, but we will play it”.

The Guardian contacted an employee of the station who preferred to remain anonymous behind the pseudonym Apollo and who said that when he arrived at the station, the track was already playing, without knowing how long it was already happening.
