Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, 40, have already realized that they will have to worry more and more about security in California, United States. According to the newspaper “The Sun”, the couple’s mansion was invaded twice within a 12-day period in May. There is no information on whether anything was taken by the invaders.

According to the report, Santa Barbara police were called to the scene on May 19, and then returned to the mansion on May 31. Both times, Harry and Meghan were traveling and both were recorded as trespassing and property crimes in “suspicious circumstances”.

The couple have lived with their children at the Chateau of River Rock mansion since June 2020 and in the past 14 months, Santa Barbara police have been called on six occasions for security reasons. The property has nine bedrooms, a spa, a children’s playground, a tennis court and a guest house. The property is situated on a private road with a long driveway and large security gates.

Harry never hid that the loss of security provided by the British royal house was one of his biggest concerns when he decided to live in the United States. He and Meghan lost police protection in the UK after they decided to leave the royal family in 2020.

Earlier this year, Harry applied for judicial review to secure the right to have police security on future visits to the UK. According to a statement, he would pay for this service, which he says is essential for keeping his family safe.
