It has been more than three years since HBO announced that the first prequel to Game of Thrones will be what will take us thousands of years ago during the big night.
The series got the green light, the cast was chosen, the first episode was filmed, but in the end the channel decided not to proceed with its implementation, giving way to the House of Dragon.
Through a new book on HBO history, we learn the cost of all this effort abandoned by then-WarnerMedia entertainment president Bob Greenblatt.
“They had already spent $ 30 million on the prequel pilot when I went there. When I saw the final result I told the boss of HBO (s.s. Casey Bloys), that it does not work and is not worthy of the original series. “He did not disagree with me,” he stressed initially.
As he says, the pressure for a good result was huge and he considers the right decision not to proceed with that project since it would not work.
