There is almost no information about Hayao Miyazaki’s new film
The only thing that has become known so far is that the film will be based on the book How Do You Live. This is a novel published in 1937 by the author Genzaburo Yoshino. The story follows a 15-year-old boy in Tokyo, Junichi Honda, nicknamed Koperu. Koperu has just lost his father so he has to live with his uncle and experience everything that has to do with dealing with problems and the path to adulthood. Through this review, Koperu wonders about all the existential issues that may concern a teenager or a human being in general.
Hayao Miyazaki shared the fact that this book was one of his favorites as he grew up. So we no longer have to wonder why he chose to take it to the big screen. In fact, if we think about his special point of view, we are definitely waiting for a magical story that will take us to distant Tokyo and make the impossible possible.
Hayao Miyazaki has “retired” many times to date
The director and creator has already stated many times that he is retiring from the field. Each time, however, he returns with a masterpiece. Something similar happened in the late 1990s. It only took him a few years to return with the 2002 film Spirited Away that led him to the Oscars. As everything shows with the rise of Studio Ghibli worldwide recognition, we can expect a similar development.
