Actor Carmo Dalla Vecchia, 50, used his social networks this Wednesday (17) to show homophobic messages received from a follower. In the text, she suggests that he talk less about his sexuality. “I just don’t think you need to say so much about being gay. Think about your mother, who is from another era”, suggested the internet user.
The actor, who is married to director João Emanuel Carneiro, responded by saying that it is “homophobic thinking” and said that his mother “is much calmer” than the alleged fan. “We have homophobic acts even unconsciously, after all we are raised that way. What would you think if I told you to be less feminine, because men think that’s vulgar? What would you say to me?”, he asked.
The conversation, however, continued with the netizen explaining that she is not homophobic because her daughter is married to a woman. “It took me more than 10 years to recognize and understand, being that I’m gay. And you, who at first aren’t, are you so sure about that?”, shot the actor. “Show your daughter our conversation and she’ll explain it better.”
Dalla Vecchia, who is currently in “Cara e Coragem” (Globo), revealed to be gay in July last year during his participation in Super Dança dos Famosos (Globo). “It’s a song that basically talks about sorority, about empathy, about family. And I, personally, now, would like to pay a very big tribute to my family and declare my love to my son, Pedro, and my husband, João “, he said of the song “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge.
“I would very much like to declare my love to you both,” he continued. “I think this positioning is very important so that other people can also see this and feel the same. I am an extremely happy guy, extremely fulfilled, with a profession that I love, with friends, with a family that accepts me exactly the way I am .”
