Influencer and psychologist Lorrane Silva was prevented from boarding a flight because of the scooter (a kind of adapted scooter) she uses to get around. Known on social networks as Little Lô, she has bone dysplasia, a syndrome that affects her physical development and mobility.
The incident took place this Friday (3), International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Lô had a flight from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo, at 9:40 am, by the airline Azul. She claims that she travels for work every week, and that her scooter has never been a problem.
“They simply delayed the flight by 1h because they didn’t want to send my scooter,” he reported on social media. “Delaying a flight with 118 people.”
“I’m completely shocked with the inconvenience they caused for nothing. Now I’ll have to take another flight”, lamented the girl from Minas Gerais. She then posted a photo of a moving ladder, which she claimed she used to get on and off the aircraft. “The size of the stairs I had to climb and now descend because I gave up traveling on that flight.”
Asked about the incident, Azul sent a note acknowledging the error, citing that the incident was related to the model of the battery used in Little Lô’s scooter.
“Blue recognizes that there was an error when requesting the documentation of the scooter’s battery model of the customer in question. The company apologizes for the inconvenience caused, informs that the customer was re-accommodated on the next flight and reinforces that it will apply new training in its crew to that situations like this do not happen again”, says the company.
