The feud between Princes William, 40, and Harry, 37, which began inside the palaces and became public, could be nearing its end with the help of a cousin, Peter Phillips, 44, Princess Anne’s eldest son. He, who is 17th in line to the throne, has a close relationship with the two cousins.
A source told The Telegraph that Phillips has been acting as a peacemaker between the brothers in an attempt to bring them back together. He walked between the two brothers during the funeral procession for their grandfather, Prince Philip, in April last year.
Harry and William have been fighting for years. The relationship took a turn for the worse after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex interviewed presenter Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, saying the royals were concerned about the couple’s son’s skin tone. Harry claimed that his father, King Charles III and William were “stuck” in the royal family.
The estrangement appears to have eased – at least temporarily – when the two brothers, along with their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, went out together on Saturday to see the flowers placed outside Windsor Castle in honor of the Queen. Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday (9).
A spokesman for William, now first in line to the British throne after the accession of new King Charles III, said he had invited his brother and sister-in-law to join him and Kate.
