The English actor and singer and the rest of the cast of ‘My Policeman’ received the Overall Performance award at the Toronto Film Festival’s awards ceremony on Sunday night. It was the first time an Overall Performance award was presented at TIFF.

On the concert stage, Harry Styles is a star, brimming with confidence as he sings in front of an audience of thousands of fans. But the Harry Styles actor kept a low profile when he accepted an acting award for one of his first major film roles at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The English actor and singer and the rest of the cast of ‘My Policeman’ received the Overall Performance award at the Festival’s awards ceremony on Sunday night. It was the first time an Overall Performance award was presented at TIFF.

“Thank you all so much, on behalf of all of us, for this wonderful, wonderful award,” said Styles, who stars in the romantic drama as a cop. “We really enjoyed working together on this film. And we hope you enjoy it,” he added.

During the press conference for the film “My Policeman,” which premiered at TIFF, Harris Styles emphasized that the character he plays “is very strange.”

“I think he’s someone who’s born into a very small world, and if you’re born into that kind of environment, you feel like you know where the edge of the world is. Little by little throughout the story, I think he realizes that there is a world beyond Brighton. I think people live entire lives in very little bubbles like this, and if that’s how you and everyone around you and generations before you, your parents, etc. have grown up. they’ve all lived in their own little bubble, it’s obviously very difficult to imagine the world outside of it,” he said.

Harry Styles stars as a gay cop in the 1950s who is married to a schoolteacher, Marion (Emma Corrine), but also having an affair with a museum curator named Patrick (David Dawson).

The film was directed by Michael Grandage and written by Ron Nisweiner based on the novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts.
