Alice Wegmann, 26, used social media to comment on her shock at seeing the news about José Dumont, 72, who was arrested on Thursday (15) for storing images of sex involving children. The two worked together in the miniseries “Onde Nascem os Fortes” (2018), by Globo.
“This is the first and only time that I will comment on this”, warned the actress. “It’s a shock when someone we admire is accused of an absurd crime. A lost dream, a disappointment. I can’t help but take a stand.”
She said her colleague was “a great actor” during the work they did together. “But reading what we read yesterday and today leaves anyone off-kilter, disappointed and worried that such terrible acts are carried out by people so close to us,” she lamented. “May these children and families be welcomed and be able to receive treatment and follow-up.”
In the sequence, the protagonist of “Rensga Hits” (Globoplay) defended that children be warned about this from an early age. “Sex education in schools is extremely important because it helps to avoid this kind of thing,” she said. “Children and teenagers find a network to report these crimes more easily. Mothers, fathers, be aware. Adults, report. There is no more room for this in the world. They will not pass.”
José Dumont was arrested in the act by the Civil Police of Rio for the crime of storing images of sex involving children. The crime is provided for in article 241-B of the ECA (Child and Adolescent Statute).
Dumont was already the subject of an investigation in an inquiry at the Dcav (Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station), for the crime of rape of a vulnerable person. According to the police, a lawyer accompanied him throughout the procedure at the police station – the report was unable to locate him.
