Ryan Reynolds takes a break from filming: ‘I want to be a father present’

​Actor Ryan Reynolds, 45, video chatted with LinkedIn News senior editor Jessi Hempel about the movie-shooting break he took to spend more time with his kids. The interview was published this Monday (6) on the platform.

Reynolds said he has done a lot and is “extremely passionate” about his creative agency Maximum Effort, which he helped found in 2018, and the MNTN software platform, where he serves as creative director.

“The most important thing for me, and I know you have kids too, is that I don’t want to miss this moment with my kids,” said the actor. He is the father of James, 6, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2, with wife Blake Lively.

​Reynolds also said that he simply wants to live life as a normal human and that the children have a schedule. “For many years, when my wife Blake was making a movie, I wouldn’t do it and I would be with the kids and vice versa. So we kind of swapped. We never worked at the same time. But we were always out. were also out.”​

According to the actor, this lifestyle has become a challenge as the children grow up and are in school. “I think it’s totally important to their development and I really enjoy being a parent there. The actor announced for the first time that he would take a break from film production in October, after finishing his Christmas film Spirited. “I don’t remember agreeing to be in such a challenging film in the last three years,” he said.
