Rihanna (no introduction needed) will be the star to sing at America’s top annual sports show, the Super Bowl, in 2023, the NFL has announced.

According to the AP, the 57th Super Bowl will be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023, with Apple Music as a sponsor for the first time.

The Barbados-born singer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, confirmed the news by posting a photo on Instagram of herself holding a football.

“Rihanna is the ‘talent of the generation,’ a woman from humble beginnings who has exceeded expectations at every turn,” Jay-Z (Beyoncé’s husband) – whose Roc Nation agency is among the producers of the show.

Notably, in 2019 he declined the invitation as a sign of support for the African-American player Colin Kaepernick, who was the first player to kneel during the US national anthem, infuriating Donald Trump. It was a form of protest against the repeated killings of people of color by white police officers.
