Mônica Bergamo: Angelica declares vote for Lula after talking about ‘enormous difficulty’ to choose candidate

Presenter Angelica took to the networks on Tuesday night (27) to declare her vote for former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and say she never considered voting for Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Her position was made public after the column anticipated that, in an interview with Marie Claire magazine, she said she was “having enormous difficulty” in making a decision for this year’s election.

“This statement was given over a month ago,” Angelica said. “But in fact I had a lot of difficulty in deciding my vote. It is worth mentioning that at no time did I consider voting for the current president. Finally, I decided to vote for Lula”, she concluded.

The presenter will be the cover of the October issue of Marie Claire magazine. Married to Luciano Huck, who even considered running for the presidential election in 2018, she told the publication that she had not yet declared her vote for president in this year’s elections because she did not have “a name”.

“My position today is democracy. Someone who cares, who cares about our forest. Someone who talks about love and not hate, who cares about people’s mental health,” he said, in an unpublished interview. “I am, like many Brazilians, with a huge decision-making difficulty”, he added.

The presenter added that politics is the “only way to solve the people’s situation”, but says she doesn’t see that in the current scenario. “We see a fight for power, a Fla x Flu, something that cannot be, is not meant to be.”

To Marie Claire, Angelica also spoke about topics such as sex, menopause and motherhood.

About her sex life, she said that the topic is considered fundamental by her and Huck. “Sex is health. It’s important for your well-being, for your mind, for your work… And it’s beautiful too. There’s this sacred thing about sex that I think is amazing.”

“We’ve been married for almost 19 years. Today, we have a much greater intimacy than, I don’t know, five, six, seven years ago,” he added.

Angelica also spoke about how she sees differences between the childhood she had and the one lived by her children. “There are things, for example, that I keep observing in Eva [a caçula, de 10 anos] that I didn’t live. Her vanity I find very funny. I never needed to be vain, I was always being made up, groomed, combed.”

And she added that she learns with her children — in addition to Eva, she and Huck are parents to Joaquim, 17, and Benício, 14.

“We always had a lot of dialogue, they are honest, open, they know they always have a lot of support here. [voltarem], those things. It’s a stress I didn’t know about.”
