“Okay, you know what I mean. If we were all in the same room and could see each other, I think it would be very easy to see how many of us have raised our hands. Me too, by the way.”

The Duchess of Sussex spoke on a new episode of her podcast with Constance Wu, Jenny Slate and Deepika Padukone about those who call her “crazy” and started the conversation by telling women, “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been called crazy or hysterical, or how about delusional, paranoid, beside themselves, completely irrational.’

While he then added, “Okay, you know what I mean. If we were all in the same room and could see each other, I think it would be very easy to see how many of us have raised our hands. Me too, by the way.”

Although she did not give a personal example of the name-calling or who might have called her those words, she did note that the word “crazy” is used very “comfortably” while also commenting on the, “damage it has caused to society and women, frankly everywhere, from relationships to families being torn apart, careers and names being destroyed.”

Following the episode, she began to blame sitcoms How I Met Your Mother and Scrubs for portraying women as “crazy”.
