The 87-year-old has been dealing with serious health issues, but his side cited a Facebook post on Oct. 19 that showed him visibly weakened by the coronavirus … but alive
The well-known portal TMZ “died” the legend of rock ‘n’ roll Jerry Lee Lewis! TMZ reported that the 87-year-old musician died Wednesday at his home in Memphis.
The singer of the legendary Great Balls of Fire, today 87 years old, is very much alive, assured the site Page Six his representative. “He is alive. TMZ incorrectly announced (the news) from a ridiculous, anonymous tip,” he said.
The 87-year-old faced serious health problems, however his side referred to a Facebook post on October 19 with the photo showing him visibly weakened by the coronavirus but… alive. Due to the state of his health, the musician was unable to attend the ceremony of his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
A new statement from TMZ said: “Earlier today we were told by someone claiming to be his representative that Lewis has passed away. This turned out to be untrue,” TMZ wrote in an apology.
