Prince Harry, 37, fifth in line to the British throne, will publish his memoirs on January 10 under the title “Spare”, publisher Penguin Random House announced on Thursday.

“We are very excited to announce the extraordinarily personal and emotionally powerful story of Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex,” the editor tweeted.

On the website created by the publisher to promote the work, it is described as a window into how the prince reacted to the death of his mother Diana, 25 years ago, and how his life has been affected since then.

“With its raw, unwavering honesty, ‘Spare’ is a landmark work filled with insights, revelations, introspection and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over pain,” said Penguin Random House.

Harry, the second child of King Charles III, and his wife, Meghan, a former black American actress, surprised by abandoning their royal duties in early 2020 and moving to the United States.

During an impactful televised interview in March 2021, the couple accused the royal family of insensitivity and racism.

Last year, Harry announced that he was writing his memoir, in which he stated that he would expose the “mistakes” and “lessons learned” throughout his life.

“Spare” will go on sale in January in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa, the publisher’s website said. Harry will use the proceeds from the book, which will be published in 16 languages, to donate to British charities, he added.

Harry and Meghan will also have a documentary on Netflix in 2023. Production was delayed after criticism of the fifth season of the series “The Crown”, which dramatizes the events of the royal family. The documentary series was initially slated to air in December.
