After celebrating Lula’s victory, Anitta warns that she will remain away from the networks

Shortly after celebrating the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the 2022 presidential elections, Anitta, 29, announced that she will remain away from social media for a while. In recent weeks, the singer has interacted much less with fans than usual and even rumors have emerged that she is suffering from depression. The performer of the hit “Envolver” denied being sick, says she feels “happy and full”, but assumed that she has avoided the internet. Anitta warned that she will still be “off”. “I’m in a moment of taking care of myself”, explained the singer.

Anitta stressed that her team will keep their official profiles with information about the career and vented. “I stayed off the internet for a few reasons, some things happened in my life and I really wanted to hug my family. And I remembered the last moment I was with them and there were only political fights. Our moments were limited to arguments, offenses, shouting. And then I thought: ‘Wow, that’s what we’re turning into, right? What the country is turning into'”, acknowledged the singer who in July had declared her support for the Workers’ Party candidate. Since then, she has been the target of attacks by Bolsonaro and his supporters.

She also commented that she was relieved with the end of the elections in Brazil. “Relief. If love won, now is the time to put that love into practice. Put democracy into practice,” she began, in a series of Twitter posts. Anitta also asked that PT voters needed to welcome and respect those who voted for Jair Bolsonaro, candidate of the Liberal Party and who was seeking reelection. “This is the only way we can never live the nightmare that this election was. As long as we still treat each other with aggression, anger and disrespect, we will only be mirroring what we say we are fighting against. I pray for unity. The person we preferred won, but half the Brazilian people are unhappy,” she noted.
