Performance by the distinguished Chant Dance “The Masters of the Chant Art”, with choirmaster Achilleas Chaldaiakis.

Festive initiation into the Entrances of the Virgin and in the atmosphere of Christmas that is approaching, on Saturday, November 19, at the Athens Concert Hall, the distinguished Chant Dance “The Masters of the Chant Art”, with choirmaster Achillea Chaldaiki.

This original manifestation of The Friends of Music Association is a celebration of members, words and images, as the hymnic psalms are followed by the recitation of paternal and festive texts, while on stage, the well-known hagiographer Giorgos Kordis creates illustrations with digital technique and direct projection on the screen.

The internationally known artistic group “The Masters of Chanting Art” was founded in 1983 by Grigorio Stathis, while from 2004 onwards, its responsibility, teaching and direction was taken over by the professor of Byzantine Musicology and Chanting Art of EKPA Achilleas Chaldaiakis. “The Masters of the Singing Art” have so far performed more than 500 performances around the world (Europe, Asia, America and Australia) and have been repeatedly presented on radio and television both in Greece and abroad. They have sung in famous concert venues (among them, the Concert Halls of Greece, Romania, Russia, Estonia, South Korea, Sydney Opera House, etc.), but also in many monumental Byzantine churches, on various festive or other anniversary occasions. So far they have recorded over 25 digital discs.
