Cássia Kis: Neighbors repudiate the presence of the actress, who is increasingly isolated

by

Cássia Kis has been the owner of a house in the rural condominium Ecovila Clareando since August of last year, between the municipalities of Piracaia and Joanópolis, an hour and a half from the capital of São Paulo. The relationship with the neighbors was being built in a calm and harmonious way, with the right to small kindnesses on her part.

Cássia even distributed leaflets around the neighborhood that guaranteed discounts on tickets for her shows (“Without resources from the Rouanet Law”, as she liked to emphasize). A week ago, however, the broth spilled over. Love is over.

Bothered by the actress’s homophobic speech, residents of Clareando created a manifesto against her in the condominium’s official message group. More than expressing their discomfort with her presence, the neighbors tried to “remind” her that she can be prosecuted for discrimination against the LGBTQIAP + public. Cássia was part of the group until this Wednesday (9), when, in the face of growing rejection, she decided to delete her number from the WhatsApp list.

The neighbors of Cássia Kis are already starting the manifesto by reminding that the community has “a life-preserving orientation”. They reinforce the repudiation of the actress’ statements, among them: “A man with a man doesn’t give a child, a woman with a woman doesn’t give a child either” and “I receive the unbelievable images of children aged 6, 7 kissing. Two girls inside the school kissing, where there is a space called beijódromo”.

“Unfortunately, in the middle of 2022, we still need to vehemently fight statements full of ignorance, prejudice and discrimination”, says an excerpt from the document. In another, residents reinforce respect for individualities within the collective and say they believe in the power of education.

They make clear the possibility of suing Cássia, as did the Arco-Íris group, a national movement that represents the LGBTQIAP+ community, for homophobic speeches. The crime news was presented at the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJ-RJ), which confirmed receipt this Friday (4).
