Treating cancer, Jane Fonda says she is not afraid to die: ‘I’m ready’

Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, actress Jane Fonda, 84, says she is not afraid of death. In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight (watch it below), she says she’s ready to go and that she doesn’t have much time left.

The revelation began to be made after a question about the importance of having more celebrities, like her, doing social activism. “For better or for worse, celebrities bring attention to some causes. I won’t be here much longer and we need to get celebrities involved in these issues,” he began.

Asked about the speech, Jane continued: “When you get to my age, you better be aware of the amount of time behind you and the amount of time that lies ahead of you. That’s just being realistic”, he scored.

“I’m not afraid to leave. I’m ready. I’ve had a great life. Not that I want to leave, but I know it’s going to be sooner or later.”

It was in September that Jane Fonda spoke for the first time about the disease. “I want to say that this is a treatable cancer and many patients have made progress with the medications. Since last week, several people have written or posted to me that they have had this type of cancer and have been free of the disease for many decades. Well, in brief, how I’ll be 85, so I won’t have to worry about ‘too many decades’,” he said.

The actress thanked the occasion for the manifestations of affection received. “I am deeply moved and heartened by my fans’ expressions of love. I feel stronger than I have in years,” concluded Jane Fonda, who had begun chemotherapy three weeks ago.
