The cultural space in the old Slaughterhouses of Tavros is reopening – On Thursday the opening


The halls were heavily damaged after a fire that broke out in the summer of 2020

In the restoration of the halls of of old Sphagia in Tavrosthe Municipality of Moschatos-Tavros proceeded and next Thursday the consecration will take place and their re-opening as a new cultural space will take place.

These halls are an emblematic point for the city and its inhabitants, both in terms of their historicity, and in terms of the fact that for many years musical and other events were organized there by organizations and the Cultural Center of the municipality, as well as school activities , but had suffered massive damage in the devastating fire that broke out in July 2020.

Now, the damages have been fully repaired and the rooms will be inaugurated on Thursday 24/11, at 5:30 pm, in the presence of the Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakouwho until then was the Minister of the Interior, had a decisive contribution in getting the restoration works approved for financing.

“The fire in the halls of the old Slaughterhouses in the summer of 2020 shocked us all. We managed to overcome all the obstacles and we begin with joy and optimism the reopening of the halls”he stated the mayor of Moschato-Tavros Andreas Efthimiou and then emphasized among other things: “I would like to thank everyone for their contribution and support to our common goal, which is to continue the multidimensional work of supralocal importance that is carried out in the halls of the old Slaughterhouses. I feel the moral obligation to refer in particular to the current Minister of Citizen Protection, Mr. Takis Theodorikakos, who will be honored for his valuable contribution to the restoration of the halls”.

And at the end, Mr. Efthymiou added: “I am sure that we will further enrich the activities and functions in the halls of the old Slaughterhouses, in all the fields that make up the quality of daily life”.
