Marilyn Monroe: Personal belongings of the blonde bombshell are up for auction

More than 175 of her personal items Marilyn are being auctioned by Julien’s Auctions and TCM Present: Icons & Idols Hollywood, which will take place live and online on December 17 and 18, People exclusively reveals.

One of the most notable items in the collection is a handwritten note from Charles Stanley Gifford, who was recently proven to be the star’s father through DNA testing.

According to the house’s announcement, it is believed that Gifford personally gave the card to Monroewhile she was in the hospital.

“I discovered the card by accident while preparing Marilyn’s personal files for auction at Julien’s Auctions,” said historian and collector Scott Fortner.

“This is the only known documentary evidence of the relationship between Monroe and Gifford, which solves the mystery of whether or not she knew or had contact with her biological father.”

The card is expected to sell for $2,000 to $3,000, according to the house’s estimates.
