Roberto Carlos says goodbye to Erasmo Carlos at a wake in Rio

Singer Roberto Carlos, 81, said goodbye to his musical partner and friend for six decades Erasmo Carlos, who died at age 81 on Tuesday (22). The king attended the singer’s wake at the Crematorium and Vertical Cemetery Memorial do Carmo, in the Caju neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro, this Wednesday afternoon (23).

Visibly dejected, Roberto Carlos arrived at the scene wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a protective mask. He greeted the fans outside the crematorium and went inside to watch the farewell ceremony reserved for family and friends.

Singer Rosemary was also there to say goodbye to her friend and said she was surprised by Erasmo’s death. “This moment was very difficult. Erasmo was always such a sweet person and so loved by all of us”, she said with emotion.

Marisa Monte, who recorded songs with the singer, was also at the crematorium to say her last goodbyes to Erasmo. “Partner, a great friend, will leave a huge nostalgia and a wonderful legacy”, she told journalists.

The singer Léo Jaime is another artist who went to say goodbye to Tremendão. A friend of the singer, he posted on the networks on the day of his death a photo of a ring he got from Erasmo Carlos with his initials and a guitar. “This ring is my talisman”, wrote Léo Jaime.

Other celebrities who were unable to attend the wake sent wreaths of flowers, such as Detonautas, The Fevers and the couple Boninho and Ana Furtado. “Saudades Tremendão” was written on one of the wreaths.
