The exhibition opens on January 25 and ends on April 23, 2023
From next January, art lovers will have the opportunity to observe in a new immersive exhibition the evolution of the aesthetic style of the famous artist David Hockney; in “David Hockney: Bigger & Closer”the Lightroom art gallery, at King’s Cross, Londonwill use the latest digital projection and sound technology at its opening to enhance the experience.
Over three years “we worked with David to bring together large-scale projected images, animation, archival interviews and commissioned musical composition to create a new kind of exhibition that owes as much to Hockney’s designs for theater as works his paintings, his sketches and his photography,” explained exhibition director Mark Grimmer.
The visual experience accompanied by a soundtrack narrated by Hockney himself. “The world is very, very beautiful if you look at it, but most people don’t look very much. They take a quick look at the ground in front of them so they can walk, but they don’t really look at things very well, with a strain. I do it” says Hockney, on the exhibition’s soundtrack.
