An active Bolsonarist, actress Luiza Tomé, 61, closed her accounts at Banco Itaú after Maria Alice Setúbal, heir to the company’s family, joined the transition team of Lula’s government.

The actress even published on social networks about the decision to boycott the bank, but deleted it shortly after the repercussions.

wanted by F5, she said she has no regrets. “I erase a lot of things so as not to pollute too much. As for the value [retirado das contas]I distributed it among the needy”, he revealed in an interview.

At the time, Luiza wrote on Twitter: “Banco Itaú card, I canceled it! Enough of supporting those who are not concerned with our country but with themselves”. The image was the proof of withdrawal.

This was not the first time that Tomé has shown his dissatisfaction with the defeat of Bolsonaro (PL) to Lula (PT) in the elections. Active on the social network, he often criticizes leftists.

When contacted, Itaú’s communication says that Maria Alice Setúbal has no relationship with the bank. “Neca Setúbal’s participation in the transition team of the future government has nothing to do with Itaú. Neca dedicated her life to the education area, having never acted in the bank’s management, and is no longer part of the group of shareholders that control the Itaú”, says an excerpt from the official position. “Therefore, her decision is exclusively personal, unrelated to the bank.”

The note also states that the bank “is an organization that aims to contribute to the development of Brazil, always acting in a non-partisan way, without supporting candidates or specific parties.”
