Pantone, the American color consulting company, has already defined a hue for the year 2023. Very Peri, an intense purple inspired by the Metaverse, now gives way to Viva Magenta: “An unconventional tone for an unconventional moment”.
The announcement was made through the company’s social networks this Thursday (1st). According to the text shared with the ad, the color brings a new vision and vibrates with “energy and vigor”. 🇧🇷[É] a shadow rooted in the descendant nature of the red family demonstrating a new sign of strength.”
The Viva Magenta hue is also defined by code 18-1750 and intends to “explore the dynamics
between Artificial Intelligence and human creativity to create ‘The Magentaverse'”. According to the brand, the tinted crimson red tone expands between the physical and the virtual and represents the balance between hot and cold.
In the year 2021, two shades were chosen. After the “blue of the sky at dusk” in 2020, the year was marked by “warm yellow” and “gray with a firm base”. Every year, Pantone chooses the color that should be trending in the world of fashion and design.
Pantone has been launching its trend colors since 2000. In 2018, the chosen tone was Ultra Violet purple, while in 2017 the chosen color was Greenery fluorescent green. The color of 2019 was Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546).
