The 20-year-old star revealed how the iconic (apparently) scene came about, clarifying that she refused the help of a choreographer.
Jenna Ortega, who is in the spotlight as a rising star after her appearance on Netflix’s Tim Burdon’s Wednesday, has revealed “the secret” of her famous dance playing the daughter of the Addams family – in a scene from the series she has taken viral dimensions.
Wednesday, which is shown on Netflix and it would not be an exaggeration to say that it is reaching “frenzy” dimensions for the public on social media, owes its popularity to Ortega’s epic dance with the track “Goo Goo Muck” by the Cramps, among others.
Speaking on The Tonight Show, the 20-year-old star revealed how the (apparently) iconic scene came about, clarifying that she refused the help of a choreographer.
He wanted to prove that his dance knowledge is enough, he thought of all the choreography and produced it in two days.
As she reports, just two days before the scene was shot, the director, Tim Burton, came to her trailer and told her that he trusted her completely, being sure that her dance would be perfect.
Jenna, I know you said you wanted to do the choreography yourself. I know you’ve got it, you’re working on it, I’m not even worried. I trust you.’ she told Ortega, admitting that until then she was struggling to find her choreography.
“I hadn’t thought about it until then. I had cello and fencing lessons that week. I just didn’t have the time. Oh my god I was banging my head against the wall. I felt so stupid,” she admits.
